Experienced BIM Technician

Method are recruiting for an experienced BIM Technician.

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic BIM Technician who is keen to join our Building Information and Modelling BIM department. You will be expected to be experienced in the use of Revit to produce technical drawings.

Qualifications and Experience

  • You should be experienced in the creation of 3D models from both marked up information and meetings discussing constraints.
  • Proficient in the use of Revit, requiring minimal input supervision to carry out creating systems and drawings.
  • Have experience in liaising with external Design Team members such as Architects and Structural Engineers.
  • Experience working to deadlines and managing workloads efficiently in order to achieve project deadlines.
  • Understanding of BIM and what it’s process involves.
  • Aware with some knowledge of relevant standards such as BS1192 and PAS 1192
  • Experience of working to BSRIA BG/6 would be beneficial.

Experienced M&E Engineers

Experienced mechanical or electrical engineers for Swindon and Bristol offices

We’re looking for talented Mechanical or Electrical Engineers with some experience in the industry to join our fast-growing team and help us deliver our ambitious expansion programme. Our head office is in Swindon and we are growing our Bristol office. We are looking for engineers in both Swindon and Bristol and for people who share our commitment to offer a high-quality service to clients and to promote sustainability in building design.

We would expect you to be running your own projects from the beginning (depending on experience) and to be able to move them forward as part of the project team.

Experience and Qualifications

  • We are looking for intelligent and experienced M&E engineers. You’re probably working for a major M&E engineering practice or will be working on major projects.
  • Our unusual multi-disciplinary approach to engineering means we’d prefer you to have experience in mechanical and electrical engineering but we’re happy to look at candidates who have specialised in one discipline.
  • You’ll almost certainly have a good degree in a STEM subject.
  • You must be passionate about delivering the highest quality service to clients and have the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
  • You will need to adapt to new situations quickly and be willing to contribute as an active design team member from early on.

Junior CAD Technician

Would you like to get paid for gaining an advanced apprenticeship qualification whilst gaining practical on the job experience from day one?

Method are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior CAD Technician to join our team in our Bristol Office. Based in pleasant offices in central Bristol, this is an excellent opportunity to join our friendly growing team, and the prospects for further promotion and development are excellent.

What to expect

Working predominantly in AutoCAD you will be trained and developed in both the creation of technical drawings and your understanding of building services. You will support our project engineers by:

  • Preparing technical drawings using the latest CAD software
  • Liaising with architects and contractors to ensure that we have the right information to prepare drawings
  • Taking briefs on technical building services design elements and translating the engineer’s vision into detailed technical drawings
  • Carrying out engineering tasks such as working to constraints of fire alarm systems and designing where they will be located
  • Drawing technical schematics of entire systems

Ideally to succeed in this role you should have;

  • Achieved GCSE’s at grade C or Higher. (Maths & Sciences B) – DT would also be an advantage

  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to manage and prioritise own workload to meet deadlines

Sustainability Consultant & BREEAM Assessor

Method are recruiting for an Experienced Sustainability Consultant & Breeam Assessor

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic BREEAM Assessor to join our Energy and Sustainability team, both full and part time will be considered.

The Energy and Sustainability team works closely with the M&E and Building Physics teams and we have a vacancy for an experienced sustainability consultant to advance their career with us, in a supported and friendly atmosphere.

The role will be based at our head office in Wiltshire and everyone in our team of highly trained professionals is involved in some or all of the below:

  • BREEAM advice and assessment
  • Preparing energy and sustainability statements
  • SAP and/or SBEM calculations depending on experience
  • IMPACT analysis
  • Post Occupancy Evaluation
  • BREEAM AP / on-site assistance to contractors
  • SKA
  • HQM

Experience and Qualifications

  • Ideally we are looking for a qualified BREEAM assessor in either New Construction or RFO, and a willingness to learn new things, put forward new ideas and deliver an excellent service to clients at all times.
  • Experience in some or all of the above would be great.
