Environmental Engineering, BIM Technician

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic graduate who is keen to join our Building Information and Modelling (BIM) department. You will be expected to develop 3D computer models of the proposed building and input and analyse data from the computer simulation software.

You can expect a “hands on” learning style with constant support and tuition from experienced team members. You will be assigned a mentor who will guide you through your roles and responsibilities. Responsibilities increase rapidly as confidence and experience is gained. In addition, you will be encouraged to develop your qualifications and become affiliated with an accredited institution such as CIBSE, IMechE, IET or the Energy Institute and our training programme supports this.

We offer 24 days’ leave plus additional flexi-leave (up to 12 days’ flex, plus an additional 10 days’ unpaid leave), flexible working hours, private healthcare, life assurance, company pension scheme, regular appraisals and a profit-share bonus scheme. Salary is highly competitive and will increase rapidly with experience. First year anticipated earnings £27,000.

Person Requirements

You will need to adapt to new situations quickly and be willing to contribute as an active design team member. Experience with using Revit or AutoCAD software is desirable, but not essential.

We provide a wide ranging technical consultancy service with sustainability at the heart of the design process, including:

developing low energy building design strategies in conjunction with architects and structural engineers

  • Providing advice on sustainability, BREEAM and building physics
  • Building services engineering including heating, lighting, power and water systems design with a strong emphasis on reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions
  • Advising clients on integrating renewable energy technologies into buildings to provide sustainable energy
  • Working with contractors on site to ensure that design concepts are correctly implemented and constructed
  • Using latest dynamic simulation software as part of energy, CO2, thermal and daylight analysis

Qualifications and Experience
You should have a good degree in any architectural or engineering or building related discipline. You must be interested in the built environment and have the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. You will need to adapt to new situations quickly and be willing to contribute as an active design team member. Experience with using Revit or AutoCAD software is desirable but not essential.

Experienced mechanical or electrical engineers for Swindon and Bristol offices.

We’re looking for talented Mechanical or Electrical Engineers with some experience in the industry to join our fast-growing team and help us deliver our ambitious expansion programme. Our head office is in Swindon and we are growing our Bristol office. We are looking for engineers in Swindon and Bristol. Salary is negotiable, according to experience.

What you would do

What we’re looking for from you
Above all, we are looking for intelligent and experienced M&E engineers. You’re probably working for a major M&E engineering practice or will be working on major projects.

Our unusual multi-disciplinary approach to engineering means we’d prefer you to have experience in mechanical and electrical engineering but we’re happy to look at candidates who have specialised in one discipline. You’ll almost certainly have a good degree in a STEM subject.

You must be passionate about delivering the highest quality service to clients and have the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.

You will need to adapt to new situations quickly and be willing to contribute as an active design team member from early on.

Sustainability Consultant & BREEAM Assessor

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic BREEAM Assessor to join our Energy and Sustainability team, both full and part time will be considered.

The Energy and Sustainability team works closely with the M&E and Building Physics teams and we have a vacancy for an experienced sustainability consultant to advance their career with us, in a supported and friendly atmosphere.

The role will be based at our head office in Wiltshire and everyone in our team of highly trained professionals is involved in some or all of the below:

  • BREEAM advice and assessment
  • Preparing energy and sustainability statements
  • SAP and/or SBEM calculations depending on experience
  • IMPACT analysis
  • Post Occupancy Evaluation
  • BREEAM AP / on-site assistance to contractors
  • SKA
  • HQM

Ideally we are looking for a qualified BREEAM assessor in either New Construction or RFO, and a willingness to learn new things, put forward new ideas and deliver an excellent service to clients at all times. Experience in some or all of the above would be great.
