Redcliff Quay (EMBARQ), Bristol, is the comprehensive refurbishment and deep retrofit of a landmark 100,000 sq ft, five‑storey office building overlooking the city’s Floating Harbour.

The scheme transforms the existing structure into a future‑focused workplace, centred around a new double‑height reception and full‑height central atrium that enhances arrival, connectivity and daylight. A full Cat A refurbishment is delivered across all office floors, supported by glass wall‑climber lifts, feature circulation and biophilic design elements to promote wellbeing. New end‑of‑journey facilities in the basement provide extensive cycle storage, showers, lockers and EV charging, while a landscaped waterfront piazza activates the ground floor and strengthens the building’s relationship with the public realm.

The project prioritises sustainability through the retention of the existing structure, saving approximately 1,440 tonnes of embodied CO₂e compared to a new build, alongside the replacement of legacy building services with low‑carbon systems and operation on 100% green electricity, positioning EMBARQ as a best‑in‑class example of low‑carbon commercial retrofit in Bristol city centre.

The project is targeting targeting EPC A, BREEAM Excellent, and a NABERS 4* rating.
