Wellbeing Centre, Plymouth University

  • Client:
    Plymouth University
  • Architect:
    Grainge Architects
  • Accreditation:
    BREEAM Excellent
  • Value:
    £3m

We acted as sustainability advisor and engineering technical advisor for this £3m new health and wellbeing centre for Plymouth University.

The unit is in the heart of the campus and provides space for GP services, minor treatment, mental health and counselling services, complementary therapies and a pharmacy. The building is an extension to the existing medical centre which contains further treatment and consulting rooms.

This was an example of where the different parts of our organisation were appointed by different clients; the main contractor and the University themselves. We carefully managed any conflict of interest and worked together as part of the wider team to deliver a seamless service and a BREEAM Excellent rating.
