We were excited to be involved as Code Assessor on behalf of the main contractor for the assessment of 194, new-build apartments for Phase 1 of Wapping Wharf Bristol.

The £26m development provides both affordable and private new housing as part of the continuing regeneration of the Bristol Harbourside area.

Our sustainability specialists and the project team worked closely to achieve the Level 3 rating required and to tackle the complexities of assessing a large number of units. Consideration was given to a photovoltaic array and a CHP energy centre to provide low-carbon energy and domestic hot water. Extensive bicycle storage and a careful public realm layout were included to encourage sustainable travel.

Awards include:

Shortlisted for 2016 West of England Regional LABC Building Excellence Awards, Best Large New Housing Development and Best Partnership with a Local Authority Building Control Team, Bristol Civic Society 2017 Design Award.
