A 12,000m2 replacement secondary school procured through the ESFA framework. The new building will have teaching spaces for 1,380 pupils including the 6th Form, a new designated unit for students with Autism and will include rebuilding the existing Sports Centre, Public Library and Adult Education Centre.

This site is noisy and is just 200m from the M4 motorway and only 2km from Heathrow Airport and designing the building to meet this challenging noise environment has been a key design issue. We carefully analysed the noise data and developed a solution which allows hybrid ventilation for most of the school with mechanical ventilation limited to those areas where it is necessary to meet the ESFA Output Specification.

A large roof mounted PV array helps to meet the local authority planning requirement for renewable energy. The scheme also includes the rearrangement of the complex site utilities to feed the Goals football academy to the south of the site.
