Chigwell School is an independent co- educational school with the Pre-Prep, Junior and Senior schools sharing a single campus, which covers some 28 hectares of land.

This new sports centre provides a 6-lane 25m swimming pool, 5-court multi-purpose sports hall, fitness gym and CV suite with extensive changing facilities for indoor and outdoor sports.

The low-energy building is super-insulated with heat recovery to minimise energy demand and a very large 150kW roof mounted PV array means that CO2 emissions have been cut by over 60%.

Our initial building physics analysis helped to optimise the external envelope design and allows significant areas of the building to be naturally ventilated to provide comfortable conditions all year round without overheating.

The M&E services are fully designed to BIM Level 2 using Revit MEP and the model is fully integrated with the architectural and structural models to ensure full coordination on site.
