Emily Runacres

Emily Runacres is a Senior Associate, Practitioner Member of IEMA, and licensed BREEAM Assessor and Accredited Professional (AP), with a Master’s degree in Geography and over 14 years’ experience delivering sustainability consultancy services across the built environment. Emily provides strategic sustainability advice throughout the project lifecycle, supporting clients, design teams and contractors from planning and concept design through to construction and completion. Her expertise includes sustainability strategies, BREEAM assessments, embodied and whole life carbon analysis, planning compliance, and environmental certification for major new build and refurbishment projects. She has worked across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial offices, education, residential, mixed-use and leisure developments, helping project teams achieve ambitious sustainability targets while balancing programme, cost and practical delivery considerations. Emily has particular expertise in contractor engagement, working closely with construction teams and supply chains to embed sustainable practices, maintain compliance with project requirements and gather the environmental and product data needed to demonstrate performance and achieve certification outcomes.
