We are looking for a Project Structural Engineer to join our growing Structural and Civil Engineering team.

This is a rare opportunity to join a newly established discipline within Method. As part of a small and growing team, you will have the chance to take on real responsibility from day one and play a key role in shaping both the team and the projects we deliver.

You will deliver structural design across a range of new-build and refurbishment projects, working closely with senior engineers, architects and the wider design team.

For the right candidate, this role offers clear potential for rapid progression as the team grows.

Based at our London Office which has good travel links to Swindon, Bristol and Bath. You will have the opportunity to expand your skillset and gain invaluable knowledge from other team members, whilst working closely with our other business groups.

Method operates a hybrid working policy so this will be a blend of the office and working remotely.

Salary range: £40k to £50k depending on experience.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Delivering structural design for new-build and refurbishment projects across a range of sectors
  • Taking ownership of defined project packages from concept through to construction
  • Preparing calculations, reports and technical specifications
  • Undertaking structural inspections and producing clear, concise technical reports
  • Coordinating with and guiding Revit/CAD resource to deliver drawing packages across all RIBA stages
  • Coordinating with architects and other consultants
  • Attending and contributing to design team meetings
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers
  • Contributing to efficient, buildable and sustainable design solutions

Experience and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng, MEng or similar)
  • 2–5 years’ experience in structural engineering (UK buildings sector)
  • Strong academic background
  • Experience working with common structural materials (steel, concrete, masonry, timber)
  • Familiar with UK design standards and Eurocodes
  • Experience with industry design software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS)
  • Familiar with BIM workflows and 3D design tools (e.g. Revit)
  • Clear communicator, confident working within a team and with external consultants
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and well-structured reports
  • Working towards Chartership and preparing your Initial Professional Development (IDP) portfolio
