Restoration by The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, of the Grade II* listed Middleport Pottery.

Middleport Pottery, famous for its ‘Burleigh Ware’ ceramics, is one of the last remaining Victorian potteries in the UK. The site underwent a £9 million restoration by The Prince’s Regeneration Trust, transforming it into a visitor centre while preserving its Grade II* listed status.

The challenges of a listed building refurbishment meant that the project team focused on areas such as materials retention and ecology enhancements, with energy metering of tenanted units allowing the occupants to monitor their energy usage. The building has no mechanical cooling and space heating is via a low NOx gas boiler.

Method Consulting provided BREEAM consultancy services pwith the project achieving a BREEAM Very Good rating.
