A major new student living development is coming to Brabazon – the transformative 380-acre neighbourhood taking shape on the historic former Filton Airfield in Bristol.
Delivered in phases, the scheme will comprise four U-shaped courtyard blocks rising to eight storeys, providing approximately 1,500 high-quality student bedrooms in a mix of studios and cluster flats. At the heart of the development will be a centralised communal hub featuring a gym, café, and dedicated learning spaces to foster a vibrant student community.
The project is targeting a minimum 10% reduction in residual carbon emissions through the integration of on-site renewable energy technologies. Heating will be provided via air source heat pumps, with infrastructure designed to enable future connection to the site-wide District Heating Network. Photovoltaic panels will be installed on the rooftops of all blocks to maximise on-site energy generation and further reduce operational carbon emissions.
