Sawbridgeworth Central Surgery, Hertfordshire

Client: Sawbridgeworth Central Surgery

Architect: Hawkins Brown

BREEAM: Very Good

This £2.2m project involves the refurbishment and extension of an existing surgery which will more than double in size, providing new up to date facilities for this busy NHS community practice. The new consulting rooms are naturally ventilated but a new treatment room for minor operations has mechanical ventilation to comply with NHS standards.

The works are phased with the existing surgery remaining in operation whilst the extension is constructed and we developed a detailed phasing plan with temporary services to ensure patient services can continue uninterrupted. A BREEAM Very Good rating is required for both the new extension and the refurbished areas by NHS funding rules and ensures the environmental impact is minimised, with all of our teams working closely together.
