BREEAM: Very Good
Ditherington Flax Mill is a Grade I listed mill in Shrewsbury, and is known as the world’s first iron-framed building. A £20m regeneration project was undertaken led by architects Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios on behalf of English Heritage. We provided BREEAM advice and assessment services to help the team achieve a BREEAM Very Good rating. This community scheme, with extensive involvement from the end users, involved interpretation space, posing a complex challenge to the team in maintaining the heritage features whilst creating a sustainable environment.
