Bicester Village Outlet Centre
Client: Value Retail
Architect: Lyons & Sleeman & Hoare
BREEAM: Very Good
We were commissioned by Value Retail to carry out a BREEAM assessment of the Phase 4 development of the Bicester Village Retail Outlet. The site was occupied by an existing Tesco Foodstore which had to be demolished with the scheme then to provide over 30 new high-end retail units built to a shell only.
Working with the Client and design team, we integrated BREEAM into the design and construction process from the outset to maximise scoring and sustainability. Careful consideration was given to materials selection and procurement to maintain the high aesthetic standards of the outlet village and to carry out the development with minimal disturbance to staff and guests. The project benefitted from life cycle costing to maximise value, improved public transport with direct links to London and careful acoustic design to create the desired atmosphere in the completed units.
