Method has been appointed to provide full M&E design and BREEAM Assessor duties for this 12,000m2 warehouse and museum development at Walkers Logistics near Swindon.
Located on the former RAF and USAAF Membury Airfield the warehouse and museum will be used to store a restored C-47 aeroplane, used at the airfield during WW2. The space will also include office space and staff accommodation.
With a focus on sustainability, the building minimises energy use through thoughtful design with a focus on a “fabric-first” approach as well as passive design features which include ample daylighting through the use of skylights and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Air source heat pumps and solar PV will ensure the building achieves zero carbon emissions from regulated and un-regulated emissions.
The building is targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating.
